J. White & Associates, founded in 2009 by Jeff and Kristel White, offers a unique form of representation to the professional beauty and retail industries. The firm partners with select premium manufacturers to broker the sales and marketing of their products to—and more importantly, THROUGH—key distribution partners nationally. The firm's management carefully selects the manufacturers with whom they align, and they specialize in emerging market leaders.
After 16 years in the business, president Jeff White saw an opportunity for a unique business model, brought about by the evolution of consolidated distribution.
"The old school rep firm business model offers a shotgun approach, employing dozens of reps selling an average of 40 plus lines," states Jeff. "Redundancy among manufacturers is unavoidable, and focus is frequently obscured. Inevitably, you end up with more reps than viable accounts upon whom to call and more manufacturing partners than you can effectively service. It has become an outdated model.”

About Our Team
Jeff White Following a four-year engagement with the United States Air Force, Jeff, a Virginia native, graduated Cum Laude from James Madison University. Upon graduation from J.M.U. in 1993 with a BBA in Marketing and a minor in Sociology, Jeff began his career as a professional beauty products representative and cultivated a territory consisting primarily of key accounts while living in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
Kristel White Kristel, a Charlotte, North Carolina native, graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of North Carolina Charlotte in 1990, with a BSBA in Marketing. She spent three years in banking before joining Barnhardt Manufacturing Company, where she spent the next 13 years canvassing the beauty industry as National Sales Manager for Intrinsics. Kristel and Jeff married in 2003 and have three children.
Brian Denby Brian, a Virginia native, graduated from Virginia Commonwealth University. He has established himself as one of the most successful reps in the professional beauty industry since 1982. Brian lives in Dallas, TX, and specializes in key account management and prestige retail.
Dewayne Heffley Dewayne, a Texas native, studied journalism at North Texas State University. He began his career in the professional beauty industry unwittingly at the age of 19 when he took a summer job in a distributor’s warehouse. He then worked as a DSC and sales manager for Sally Beauty Company before beginning his lasting career as a manufacturer's representative in 1988. Dewayne lives in Columbia, South Carolina.

The Common Good Foundation of NC was founded by Jeff and Kristel White, in honor of Dr. Rebecca Davis, to share in their good fortune. “It is our responsibility to help care for those who are unable to speak for or care for themselves,” says Kristel. “We believe that we are all charged with leaving this world a little better than we found it, and this foundation is one way in which we fulfill that duty. Everyone can enhance a life with a simple smile and friendly greeting. Jeff and I are blessed with the ability to do more, and it is our privilege to share.” The Common Good Foundation of NC currently supports the following charitable organizations: St.Jude's Children's Hospital - Providing state of the art medical care for the most vulnerable among us, children suffering from life-threatening illness InReach - Empowering people with disabilities to live life their way.YWCA - Supporting women and their families to achieve physical and financial independence and success "As our company grows, so grows our foundation,” says Jeff. “Dr. Davis carefully oversees the foundation, identifying organizations in need of our support during this ever-changing economic environment.
